Kansas City, KA: Sean Upton Wins the STP 400 at Kansas Speedway Thursday night. The Win, Upton's 3rd of the Season comes as the final race at the Kansas Speedway before New pavement, and reconfigured banking takes shape for the Fall race. Jerry lepage was 2nd, while David Hensley posted his season high 3rd place finish at Kansas this week.

Fort Worth, TX: Tim White collects his first career Sprint Cup Series Win in the Samsung 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. White led 93* laps holding off the hard charging 2nd place Sherwood Williford for his maiden voyage to Victory Lane in The BullRing Sprint Cup Series.

Martinsville, VA: Cory Podolski Wins the Goody's Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway. Podolski led 111* laps en route to his 23rd career Sprint Cup Win. Defending Champion Jeff Marble was 2nd, while Jerry Lepage came home 3rd at Martinsville Speedway this week.

Fontana, CA: Sean Upton Wins Auto Club 400 at Fontana. Upton led 45 laps en route to his second of the Season, and 21st career Sprint Cup Series Win. Tim White collected a season high 2nd place Finish, while Jerry Lepage overcame a late race penalty to finish 3rd at Fontana this week in the Auto Club 400.

Daytona Beach, Fla: Jerry Lepage Wins the Daytona 500. The Former Champion only needs final lap making Speedweeks history at Daytona International Speedway. Sitting 3rd at one to go, Lepage broke the front-pack action wide open on the race leaders. Coming to the Checkers, it was Lepage collecting his 2nd career Daytona 500. Sean Upton led 34 laps finishing 2nd, while Tim White came home 3rd. Jeff Marble finished 4th while Doug Beasley rounded out the 2012 Daytona 500 Top 5 finishers. In other Speedweeks action from Daytona International it was The Cagey Veteran Doug Beasley winning the 2012 Bud Shootout while Robert Reiter, and Tim White collected wins in their respective Gatorade Duel races.

Homestead-Miami: Sherwood Williford Wins the 2011 Nationwide Series Championship. It Was a three-horse race heading into Homestead-Miami. Battling two Series heavy-weights, Williford had his hands full with defending Series Champion Jeff Marble, and former Sprint Cup Champion Jerry Lepage. Lepage won the race, but the Big Story was Willford driving a near flawless race and finishing 3rd in the Season Finale. Sherwood's finish gave him just enough points to edge Lepage and secure his First career Nationwide Series Championship. Williford finished just 3 points ahead of Lepage, and only five points ahead of former Champion Jeff Marble. Sherwood collected 3 Wins, 8 Top-5's, and 12 Top-10 finishes in his 2011 Nationwide Championship campaign. Congratulations Sherwood Williford!

 

2011 Sprint Cup Season Ends in Tie-Breaker

Homestead-Miami: Jeff Marble drives to his 3rd career Sprint Cup Series Championship. Coming to Homestead 9 points back, he needed to Win, and help from the field securing the Title. Finishing tied With leader Sean Upton, the Title was decided by the second Tie-breaker for the first time in Chase History. Marble finished the Season with 3 Wins, 12 Top-5's, and 16 Top-10 Finishes on the Championship Bid.

Homestead-Miami: Sean Upton finished 2nd in the Final Standings after taking The Chase lead down the stretch. At the Conclusion of the Ford 400 Upton was Tied for points Only to surrender the Championship by two point standing Tie-breakers to Jeff Marble. Upton tallied 3 Wins, 9 Top-5's, and 14 Top-10 Finishes through the Historic Sprint Cup Season.
