Sprint Cup Series Weekly Report2016B-Michigan International Speedway- Aug. 25th, 2016: Cody 'Don't call him Jesse' James Wins the Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway. James prevailed a five car nail-biting battle to the Checkers collecting his First win of the Season and punching his ticket to The Chase. Leading the most and finishing 2nd was Kevin Timpke while Jeff Marble came home 3rd. Jay Neels was 4th, and Joey Wilkie rounded out the Pure Michigan Top-5 this week.2016B-Bristol Motor Speedway- Aug. 18th, 2016: Jeff Marble wins the Bass Pro Shops 'Bristol Night Race' at Bristol Motor Speedway. Marble sweeps Thunder Valley winning both 2016 Bristol events and collecting his 2nd Win of the Season. Reggie Alcatraz finished 2nd, while Sherwood Williford came home 3rd. Jay Neels was 4th while Andy 'Mongoose' Ticco rounded our the Thunder Valley Top-5 this week. 2016B-Watkins Glen International Speedway- Aug. 4th, 2016: Jerry Lepage Wins the Cheeze-It 355 at Watkins Glen International. Lepage completes a 2016 road course sweep leading all but 3 laps in route to his First Win of the season. Jeff Marble was 2nd while Brad Cornthwaite came home 3rd. Last years winner Tony Solare finished 4th, and the cagey-Veteran Doug Beasley rounded out the Cheeze-It Top-5 at The Glen this week. Las 2016B-The Pocono Raceway - July 28th, 2016: Jay Neels Wins the Pennsylvania 400 at The Pocono Raceway. Once again the man to beat was Jay Neels leading a race-high 24 laps collecting his 2nd win of the Season. Danny Coral led 16 laps and finished 2nd while Jeff Marble came home 3rd. Kevin Timpke was 4th, and Sherwood Williford rounded out the Top-5 at The Pocono Raceway this week. 2016B-Indianapolis Motor Speedway- July 21st, 2016: Jeff Marble wins the Combat Wounded Coalition 400 at the Brickyard. Marble rallied late leading the final 16 laps en route to Kissing the Bricks with his first Win of the Season. Leading the most, but finished 2nd was Jay Neels while Reggie Alcatraz turns in a season best 3rd. Jerry lepage was 4th, and Kevin Timpke rounded out the Brickyard Top-5 this week. 2016B-New Hampshire International Speedway- July 14th, 2016: Jay Neels Wins the New Hampshire 301 at New Hampshire International Speedway. Starting where he left off last Season, Neels dominated the Magic Mile by leading 199 of 200 laps collecting another Season Opening trip to Victory Lane. Kevin Timpke finished 2nd while Jeff Marble rallied home 3rd. Jerry Lepage finished 4th, and Sherwood Williford rounded out the Louden Top-5 this week. 2016A-Kentucky Speedway- July 7th, 2016: Jay Neels Wins the Season Finale Quaker State 400 at the Kentucky Speedway. Despite falling just a few Championship points shy, Neels led a race high 70 laps en route to his 2nd Win of the Season. Kevin Timpke finished 2nd while Jeff Marble came home 3rd. Finishing 4th and capturing his 2nd career Sprint Cup title was Chevy driver Sherwood Williford. Jerry Lepage rounded out the Quaker State Top-5 at Kentucky this week.
2016-A Series Headlines. 2016-A Season Champion- Sherwood Williford Wins his 2nd career Sprint Cup Series Championship. Sherwood edged contending Series Champions Jay Neels, and Jerry Lepage in a tight three car battle going into the Season finale at Kentucky. Sherwood collected 5 Wins, 10 Top-5's, and 12 Top-10's. he also won the Sprint Unlimited race and collected poles in his 2nd Championship campaign. Congratulations Sherwood Williford!
Homestead-Miami-February 15, 2013: Brad Cornthwaite Collects First career Title by Winning the Fall/Winter Series Truck Season. Needing every Spot Heading into Homestead Cornthwaite finished just ahead of Jerry Lepage capturing his First career Championship at The BullRing. Cornthwaite collected 2-Wins, 8 Top-5's and 12 Top-10's in his First career Championship bid. Congratulations Brad Cornthwaite!
